Healthy juices recipes for you: Part 2

December 30th 2006 09:13

Here is the second part of the menu that Mr. Mak has graciously shared with me. He emphasis a lot about natural ingredients and since he started juicing from fruits and vegetables, (touch wood) he doesn’t have much cough and cold. I believe everyone would love to have that. Yes, you can save up the medication and convert to the vegetables and fruits, but in return you get a healthier immune system in your body would be a good exchange, unless those who loves to have excuses for “medical leave” (MC)… hahahaha…

Healthy juices
Combinations of fruits and vegetables
Courteously contributed by Mr. Mak, owner of Everfresh Juice Station & Grill
Iron Cocktail
Carrot, spinach, lettuce, beet and parsley mix
- Great for those who needs an extra boost of iron in your bloodstream.

Anti-Ulcer Cabbage
Carrot, tomato, celery and cabbage
- Great to prevent ulcer in your stomach

Digestive Cocktail
Grapefruit, orange and lemon mix
- Great for clearing up your digestive system

Evening Regulator
Apple and pear mix
- Great for after a hard day’s work

Cholesterol Control
Carrot, apple, parsley and ginger mix
- Need to overcome cholesterol challenge? Try this

Immune Building
Carrot, cucumber, tomato, celery and parsley mix
- Need I say more? The drink name already tells you

Diabetic Cure
Apple, celery and bitter gourd mix
- Those who need to overcome diabetes can try this out

Personal note:
- The names above are all the reserved names for the restaurant of Everfresh Juice Station and Grill.
- The drinks above were testimonials of Mr. Mak’s. Especially for cholesterol and diabetic because he has two brothers who suffers diabetic and now their condition has improved well after having regular juices like these.
- Note that parsley and bitter gourd proportions are smaller than the rest; usually 1oz of parsley is enough for 1 drink. Remember to blend parsley at the end, as it is too fine for the juicer. If you don’t have a blender just pound it in.

December 29th 2006 07:00

As I was saying a little earlier about the importance of juices, and the unexpected visiting trip at Mr. Mak’s restaurant, Everfresh Juice Station & Grill, I manage to get a few pretty good recipes that Mr. Mak has generously shared with me. He is never stingy in promoting good health and he hoped that the combination of juices would help you to fight cancer and boost your immune system.

Broccoli Salad Recipe

December 29th 2006 04:36

Recently I had to travel a lot more and I didn’t get to write much on my blog, but I was blessed to have come across this particular simple yet nice restaurant that promotes natural juicing for health. This shop was recommended by my mom’s best friend’s brother, who came by to visit and brought my mom there to try out the unique juices.

Previously I was writing a lot about carbos, eating the right proportion, determine what is 1 serving, etc. Today, I read an article which is relatively useful for those who wants a balance diet in every meal, yet they are unsure the recommended percentage of combinations of protein, fibre, and fat are. Below is something that might be useful to you.

Ahem... sorry for the musical beginning... I am still fused with the Christmas musical play I watched "Windows" which was nicely acted by my group of friends in choir

“Oh, I’m on a diet.” This is a very common sentence for many who have that urge to loose that 1 size smaller. Friends are encouraging and you think you are doing the right thing to loose some weight. But why isn’t it working

The Goodness of Papaya

Extracted from fruitarian.com, wikipedia.com

When some hears the word papaya, they’d remember the pungent fragrant of a fully ripe papaya, orange and sweet flesh, and not to forget, endless black and rubbery round seeds. Tropical countries always love to use papaya have decorations for it’s beautiful colour and you can literally see papaya tries growing everywhere in tropical countries like Malaysia. It’s easy to plant and yet quite easy to be uprooted for it’s shallow roots, especially on sandy land

Previously I posted about tips for maintaining good posture, and this compiled post talks more about back and muscles. Remember the days when you were young, this familiar sentence “Stand up straight!” “Don’t slouch!” would have blown you whenever you try to lean and feel laid back? You may feel irritated at that every shout that hits onto you or every stern eye peers into your standing and sitting posture, but behind those long forgotten words actually lies a very valuable and surprisingly simple message: Good posture is important because it helps your body function at top speed
