Health 2 Know - April 2010

In our daily life, we’re exposing with numerous types of possibility of involving in unexpected accidents. In this case, the spinal cord injuries are one of the most painful yet difficult to treat injuries.

In order to minimize the severity of spinal cord injuries, the researchers from University of Rochester have discovered a solution. They have done a research on rats that having spinal cord injuries; where they’re giving the rats a food dye named, Brilliant Blue G (BBG).

Well, the rats are soothed from the torturing of spinal cord injuries, however their bodies turned blue, due to the effect of Brilliant Blue G (Hehe, in this case, the rats have transformed into “Bluesy Rats”! Lol)

Professor Steven Goldman, the leader of the research team said they’re finding the way to minimize the side effect of the BBG and it would be in the market, once they’ve figured out the solution!

A Better World without Cancer?

April 3rd 2010 02:03
Cancer has been a very common disease, and it’s still the number one killing disease that caused more than millions of death in worldwide every year.

However, if someone is telling you that one in three of us will be diagnosed with cancer during our lifetime, would you believe of what he/she said?

The cancer is mostly happening on older people, but it might strike on us anytime without any warning!

The even worse thing is some of the cancer, such as breast cancer seems to become more common in the female, especially on the women below 40s! The cases of lung cancer and esophageal cancers are significantly dropped over the past few years, due to the reduction of smokers! It’s a very encouraging statistic.

Thanks to the advanced cancer treatments, the death rate is steadily decreasing year after year.

I’m sure in the near future, cancer won’t be labeled as the “incurable disease” anymore!
