A 25 ml of Wine a Day, Keeps the Doctor Away
August 5th 2009 03:18
People have their own favorite. Some might have the interest in the foods, while other think it’s good to have some drinks once for a while!
Honestly, there are many reports on the benefits of red wine since two centuries ago.
According to the previous reports, red wine contains a complex mixture of bioactive compounds, such as flavonols, monomeric and polymeric flavan-3-ols, phenolic acids, stilbene polyphenol, resveratol and much more (WoW, it’s going to take forever, if I listed it all out here! lol)
Lindsay Brown, professor in the School of Biomedical Science at The University of Queensland said that by taking only a small amount of red wine (25 ml) per day, it would be effective against these following diseases:
1. Numerous types of cancers,
2. Heart related diseases,
3. Inflammation,
4. Diabetes,
5. Obesity, and even
6. Alzheimer disease!
Brown also pointed out that one of the red wine complex compounds, resveratrol can slow down or inhibits the growing of cancer cells.
However, she advised the public that although red wine is good for our health, but we should take it moderately, as everything in excessive will become a disaster!
