Wilson

There was a time in Australia (in my lifetime) that authorities were so scared about foot-and-mouth disease that the hosties on the planes used to spray the whole planes after landing and before anyone got off.

It always seemed pretty funny but agriculture was very precious to Australia and they were very frightened anyone (including Aussies returning) could bring it into the country.

I don't remember when that stopped exactly but it is interesting that it is still alive.

This is a huge issue in China and a deadly one. The local schools have been shut down a number of times this year due to deaths in the local area. Whilst it is not a major concern in the west, not many people are aware that it can actually lead to the deaths of children.

Jason, sorry for the panic attack and I hope you can calm down right away! lol

Janet, maybe its due to the weather, as there are more and more diseases starting to raging in present days. The more scary is the viruses seem to evolve into a stronger phase than ever before...

Michelle, yeah. People were always neglected about this issue, where they didn't take it seriously at all! At the end, the children would be the ones who suffer from this horrible disease.

Thanks for the mind provoking comments, guys!
