Beware of the Rare FMD Disease!
October 6th 2009 16:22
I have a three-year-old nephew, Christopher who is a very cute little boy. He’s a very active during the daytime. However, his parents need to keep their eyes on him, as he’s been diagnosed with a very strange disease named, “Fibromuscular dysplasia” (FMD).
Honestly, Christopher’s parents didn’t know about it at the very beginning, until he’d been verified by the doctor on last two weeks!
Basically, FMD is a rare disease that cause narrowing all the arteries, including the arteries in the kidneys, the carotid arteries and the abdomen’s arteries. Once a person is affecting with FMD, he/she might be having the risk of getting hypertension, strokes, heart attacks or arterial swelling. If the problem is becoming very critical, then death is awaiting the patient in the end!
According to the experts, this disease is only affected 5 out of 100 people. If a FMD patient wants to have a surgery, then the ACE inhibitors would be his/her only choice.
