How to eat your fruits

December 18th 2006 11:02
I just received this really interesting article from my friend about how you should eat your fruits, and I believe there are good reasons to that articles. Previously I received the Mandarin version and before I get the time to translate them I got this English version. This have saved me a lot of work.

So, hope that this article will be of use to you. Happy reading!

The Correct way of Eating Fruits

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and popping it into our mouths. It's not so easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?

- IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS!
- FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN IN AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD

Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.

In the mean time the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

So please eat your fruits in an empty stomach of before your meals!

You have heard people complaining – every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat banana I feel like running to the toilet etc – actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit in an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, dark circles under the eyes all these aill not happen if you take fruits in an empty stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits like orange and lemon are acidic because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Sehlton who did a research on this matter.

If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the secret of beauty, longevity, health, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice – drink only fresh juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up, don't eat cooked fruits because you don't eat the nutrients at all, you only get to taste.

So stop making 'goreng pisang' or 'durian porridge' if you want nutrients. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it.

You can go on a 3 – day fruit fast to cleanse your body.
Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprise when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

During the fruit fast you can eat fruits, prepared in salad forms and make it more interesting.

Personal Note:
I am not sure how accurate is it (yet) about hair complications when you don't consume enough fruits, but I do know that fruits and vegetables contain antioxidents to help you to build up your immune system and in many ways, slows down the aging process.

However, do remember that nowadays, fruits from supermarkets are usually sprayed with pesticides and this are free radicals that will damage your body. So make sure that you have soaked your fruits and vegetables with clorine filtered water for at least 30 minutes before you consume your fruits to lower down free radical intakes into your body and lessen the helpful contribution of antioxidants into your body.

Hi Jessicca,

Very informative article there.

So I need to change my sequence of food intake with fruits first then the rest of the main course.

Funny that most restaurants serves fruits as deserts at the end of the course...

Interesting article. I'd heard some of it before, but I found this part most interesting:

"You have heard people complaining – every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat banana I feel like running to the toilet etc – actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit in an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!"

I might try that sometime. As well as the fruit fast. Well, I've done it before unintentionally (since some days I feel less hungry so I eat mostly fruit apart from dinner) but I've never paid attention to the effects.

And I didn't know you understood Mandarin. Do you happen to know Cantonese (I can speak it enough to get by but not read Chinese unfortunately)?

Hi SS

Thank you so much for dropping by. ^_^

Yes, I know Mandarin, but I haven't practise for a while so it takes a while to understand the characters, especially when those are from Taiwan. Their grammar is a lot different and very advance.

There IS one particular fruit that I know that you need to be aware of eating are bananas. It is a little hard to eat bananas in empty stomach as it promotes stomach air, you'd be farting all the way... LOL... However, not all bananas produce airy stomach. Usually the big ones are the trouble makers.

This also applies to fresh vegetables. You can go on fruits and fresh vegetable diet to cleanse off your body once a while, but do remember that you need to soak in clorine free water to take out as much free radicals as possible.

No problem, Jessicca.

Well, we started last night and the kids felt odd of having fruits first before the meal. They feel full already and we couldn't finish our meal instead...

Now with your 1 serving table I think I know how to cut down our main course, with loads of fruity starters.

Hey Lay-In
LOL... that's a good way to optimise your proportion of meals and have the best of fruits and vegetables.

I gathered that your kids doesn't mind chomping the fruits up first before the meal? Not all kids like it though. You are very blessed to have such kids. ^_^
