You are Good by Nature, Believe It or Not.

June 6th 2007 03:28

Remember the days where you used to have the simplest thought in your life? How little things that make us happy, and how we see every obstacle as a game and we just enjoy every moment of it?

That is, before many of us become sarcastic, selfish, materialistic, “don’t care a damn” human beings trotting the face of the earth that we are slowly killing. I know I am being harsh… but this seemed to be rather obvious these days.

This is yet another good post I found from the self-empowerment book I got that gives me the slightest hope that, things can change for the better. I hope everyone will have some time to read this.

Human Beings Are Essentially Good
Extracted from Self Empowerment, by Bridget Menezes

Goodwill brings a geeling of peace and harmony amongst people everywhere regardless of religion, caste, nationality, colour or gender. The attitude of goodwill takes us beyond the vocabulary of us and them, towards a feeling of universal family. Ever since the earth was photographed from the moon, the image and the ideal of a world without barriers has become more tangible.

The attitude of goodwill demands the acceptance of three fundamental principles:
1. Positive qualities and virtues are inherent in human nature.

2. Our perception has the power to awaken and fortify the inherent positive aspects of others.

3. Acquired negative traits engulf people and prevent them from accessing their innate goodness.

If we believe that human beings are inclined towards negativity, there is no rationale for goodwill. The recognition that every human being is essentially good assumes that negativities are acquired, and not inherent. Therefore, they can be shed. Whatever is inherent in the human soul is also eternal and indestructible.

Acquired negativity merely veils and overshadows the inherent goodness. What has been acquired can similarly be discarded, so that the essential goodness in human beings can once again be revealed.

Thought for reflection:
Brotherhood means understanding that a cry of pain means the same in all languages, and so does a smile.

Hi katyzzz,

Glad you enjoyed the post, which I moved from Learning Something Everyday

(It's not picking up votes there either)

I have been pretty tied up and distracted by other medium of potential extra income.

Now I am doing my best to get back to track and improve my writings and contribute more.

Thank you so much for dropping by and contributing your great comments. I too loved the picture that's why I decided to post it, even though the good nature refering to humans.

(See even animals have better nature than us! Sigh)

Have a blessed day

Hi Jessicca,

I do believe people are inherently good beings and will do the right thing most of the time, even when no one's looking

And that fawn and doggy are so cute!

Hi pegasus,

(Oh did I ever tell you that my little white car is named as "pegasus" as well? )

Yes, I do agree with you that we are all good by nature, but the exposure and influences through the years will change our course of nature if we are not firm and strong in our minds and souls.

I will continue to hope for the best that humanity will oust chaos and destruction.

Thank you so much for dropping by. ^_^

Jessica,

I do believe that we are all born good ... I think the environment that people are raised in is what can turn them ugly... there is also excessive sadness that makes people bitter, too. Sometimes people don't realise it's up to them to change their world, because no one else can...

Compassion is a wonderful thing and I agree, it is a universal language like music and maths, isn't it?

We are all trying to be happy, every single last one of us...

Great Pic, btw... so gorgeous...I'd love to have a fawn as a pet.

with affection..

Lilla ...

i use to think people are almost all good, but lately i have been shocked by things people will do to get where they want to be. it saddens me. soo many people being hurt by others selfishness. why does the almighty dollar need to be gotten sooo bad, that people will do anything. i've been both weller off and broke and i have always been happy. money, material things, getting your hair and nails, done, it's not whats important. i hate when you hear people say they don't care about those things, when just weeks before they have complained about them.
This world has got to change. People have got to start caring about others atleast close to how much they care for their own self. Nothing good will ever come for very long if people don't. i've always believed that you should give more than you take. Leave the world better then you found it!
I LOVE the picture!! sooo cute.

Hi Tammy,

Well we just need to keep our hopes by setting examples from ourselves. If one start to show example, and slowly more follows the good example. There will have positive change.

Don't worry on the comments. I'll try to delete for you.

Thank you so much for dropping by.

Have a blessed day
