Green Pest Control - Simply the Better and Environmental Friendly Method

August 19th 2009 09:09
Our home planet, The Earth is a very spectacular and beautiful homeland. As the Earthlings, we have the responsibility to take a good care on the habitats and environment.

Unfortunately, human beings, one of the most incredible living species on the Earth, has been wrongly using their rights and causing some permanent damages to our Mother Nature!

In the past, the pesticides have been widely used in various sectors, such as farming, agriculture, home pest control and much more. At first, the scientists thought the pesticides are only killing the pests, but have no harmful side effects on human beings. However, after a few decades of research and experiments, many researchers discovered that the pesticides have the same effect as insecticides did, where it leads to the happening of the cancers!

Let’s take the Lymphoma as the example. For your information, lymphoma is a cancer that originates in lymphocytes (White blood cells) of the immune system. Believe it or not, most of the lymphoma patients will soon meet his/her death within five years, after they’ve been diagnosed by oncologist! Lymphoma is one of the most painful cancers of all, as it happened and spreading through our lymph system to whole body. I’ve an aunt who died from the Lymphoma. She told us that the life after having lymphoma is like staying in a “Living hell”. The pain is endless and she’s already paralyzed with it. Unfortunately, my aunt was passed away 10 years ago.

By the way, I nearly forgot to tell you, my aunt is a farmer and she’s always exposed with the pesticides day after day. My parents always advised her and her husband to wear the mask, when they’re spraying the pesticides. However, they ignored my parents’ words and refused to do it. After inhaling the toxic pesticides for many years, my aunt has finally become the target of lymphoma!

The Lymphoma Foundation of America has released a 49-page booklet about the inseparable relationship between lymphoma and pesticides. They’ve advised that it’s better to use the chemical pesticides in a small amount or totally eliminate it at all!

Due to my aunt’s incident, I strongly rejected the use of any chemical pesticides in my garden or house. Many people don’t know that by spraying the pesticides on your plants, many of the insects that are friendly to the environment are being killed as well. The disappearance of Honey Bees is closely related with the use of chemical pesticides. Based to the statistic, more than 80 percent of the wild Honey Bees have been vanished in the past few years and the situation is getting worse.

The global warming is becoming a hot issue and as an Earthling, we must do something to stop it, before it’s too late! If you really need to use the pesticides for some unavoidable circumstances, then you can consider the green pest control, as it uses the natural organic materials to expel the pests away and protects the environment in the same time!

Frankly, the green pest management has become a new trend. Some countries in the world (Including the United States) are encouraging the farmers to use this method, by offering some incentive or tax deduction to them!

Although the green pest control still in a head start stage, but it promises a good and better future for the entire living species on our remarkable homeland, The Earth!

Yeah, I was pissed off, when I discovered that the chemical pesticides are the main cause of my aunt's death! That's why, I decided to tell this sad story and hope other people would beware of it.

That's horrible news Wilson - sorry about your Aunt - if only we got educated before we acted things would be much better.

I also had no idea the pesticides were the cause of the disappearance of bees - very interesting.

One tip I have that I use at home is a home made recipe for bug spray on your plants. I mainly use this on aphids on my roses or little white moths - I think they are called Cauliflour moths (but could be wrong)

2 cups of water
1 clove of diced or ground garlic
1/4 teaspoon of dishwashing detergent

Put it in a sprayer and shake it then spray away - it drops those buggers for the cost of close to nothing.

You know, pesticides used inside the house have a big effect on humans, too, and you get even more exposure to them because it's inside the house where you spend the majority of time.
hopefully this green pesticide movement will really catch on and become the way to get rid of unwanted insects.

Jason, thanks for your condolence. WoW, it's a very good tip for natural/green pesticide. I must try it out. Thanks again.

Diva, yep, we didn't know the dangerous of pesticide, until we became the victim of it. That's why, we should be extremely careful with it. It's better not to use chemical pesticides too often.

Jason, its' possible that your little moths are in fact little butterflies and harmless, just a thought as I've not seen them. Congrats on your natural pesticide.

Jason, maybe Katyzzz are right in this case. You should check it out, whether the moths are little butterflies or not...

No definately moths Katyzzzzz and Wilson,
They eat everything - they lay little eggs on the undersideof the plant which grow and then little catterpillars munch on more things. They have managed to eat through my entire leave section of my "Elephants Foot Plants", also they love to annihilate any herbs I plant. They have appeared at all the places I have lived in the Manly area and mum says they are definately the cabbage moth.
