The spreading rate of Swine flu, which is also known as A H1N1 didn’t seem to slow down, in fact, some of the countries have been reported to have over hundreds of new confirmed infected cases everyday!
The US government advisory committee has announced to give 160 million US citizens free swine flu vaccine. It’s equivalent to 50 percent of the US total population.
The vaccination program is involving two doses of vaccine per person, is going to begin in mid-October.
Currently, they have not enough vaccine, so only the tighter group of high-risk people will be vaccinated first, this group includes the newborn babies, children between age of six months and four years, pregnant mothers and health workers!
Kathy Neuzil, the Advisory Committee of Immunisation Practices mentioned that the main objective of this mission is to make sure half of the population needs to be vaccinated, especially the younger generation and health care workers!
The health workers discovered an interesting fact about the A H1N. They found out those people who born before 1950 have a stronger natural immunity to the A H1N1 virus!
