Honesty is Speaking from a Clear Conscience

May 24th 2007 10:57
Were there times when you realised that you don’t know who you are anymore? I know I did, because there was a time that circumstances has caused me not to trust the person I love and cherish most, and up till one day when I realised that I don’t even trust myself, I know that I have turned into a stone. I do not know who I am anymore, and friends and love ones grew apart from me, even though I on believed what I am doing was right.

Here is a nice article that I found from Bridget’s self-empowerment book, which points out are we really who we are, or are we playing with different masks in different occasions. Hope this will enlighten everyone.

Honesty is Speaking from a Clear Conscience
Article extracted from Self-Empowerment, By Bridget Menezes

To be honest with oneself and to the purpose of a task earns trust and inspires faith in others. Never misuse that which is given in trust.

Honesty is to speak that which is thought of and to do that which is spoken. Such integration provides clarity and becomes an example to others. To have one form of internally and another form externally creates confusion and can have a detrimental effect on inter-personal relationships. Some think, I am honest, but no one understands me. That is not honesty. Honesty is as distinct as a flawless diamond which can never remain hidden. The intention is visible in one’s actions.

Having a clear conscience with the self and others is a sign of honesty. It is the awareness of what is right and appropriate in one’s role, behaviour and relationships. With honesty, there is no hypocrisy or artificially which creates uncertainty and mustrust in the minds and lives of others. Honesty creates integrity because the inner and outer selves resonate with each other.

Thought for reflection:
Deception leads to mistrust, whereas honesty is spiritual integrity.

Interesting Jessicca,

But wouldn't it be good if all our problems were so easily defined. And the same ideas shared by others.

Hi Katyzzz,

How complex the problem is, sometimes it is defined by the mind. The problem could be very simple, but a person who thinks a lot and finds a lot of facts, points and justifying his/her actions (or decisions) complex the situation.

I believe that this article not only focus on honesty, it encourages us to go back to the basics whenever we confront ourselves with a challenge.

Hi Tracy,

Glad that you found this article interesting and helpful.

Thank you so much for visiting ladies, I'll be right to your blogs soon.

Have a blessed weekend ^_^

Hi Lilla,

it is always good to see you again. I know you are pretty busy juggling 3 Blogs, and that's what Bloggers are, aren't we?

Well, in many ways it did, and though it is an undetermine path but I know that this will turn out ok, as long as faith and strength in heart is kept strong.

I am still a little stone-ish, but my friends said it's improving and the hard edges are disolving. hahahaha....

Have a blessed weekend ^_^

ha ha, indeed ... and in my case a bit "pithy" too *lol*

Not only that, real life to juggle as well and children going to hospital next couple of weeks... go go go alright...

I am glad you too are condensing to writing things on just this one blog Jessica, blogging can be so time consuming, especially when there is so little time to blog in...

much warmth to you,

Lilla ...
