Create a safe haven for home – Cabinetry selection

August 24th 2007 05:03
Article extracted from OH! Health Malaysia

When you come to wall bound cabinets, may it be for the kitchen, bedrooms or even the bathrooms, we need to know that such cabinets made of manufactured wood products may contain glues high in formaldehyde (medium density fibre bord, particle board, hardwood plywood), and coated with a very potent “acid catalysed” formaldehyde finish.

Custom made solid wood cabinetry with a low-toxin finishing, or metal cabinet with backed-on finish, would be better choices, yet such materials are getting expensive in the market so choose wisely and know of the consequences when you decide your indoor furniture.
