Ouch! I can’t move my neck!

October 20th 2006 12:00

This is good information about people keep getting their neck twisted suddenly out of no reason. I feel this is a good article to shed some light for those who tend to have sudden muscle strain.

IT is commonly known as a neck crick, a sudden muscle spasm arising from turning your head suddenly. Think of it as “cramps” in your neck. As with cramps elsewhere on your body, neck cramps are likely to occur when the muscles are tense or sore.

What to do when it happens?
Again, breathe. Don’t try to straighten your neck, which will quickly aggravate the spasm. Consciously relax your neck, and then slowly stretch it (possibly using your hands for this) in the opposite direction. Warm complresses can ease the soreness afterwards.

How to prevent it happen?
Keep your muscles relaxed and aligned by keeping your body posture correct at all times. Forget about the old adage of “stomach in, chest out”. Instead, picture yourself as marionette with a string pulling your head straight up.

Avoid coffee (try as much as you can) – it tenses your muscles and saps them of potassium, predisposing them to cramps.

HOT TUB.....and don't be scared of the water...necks are a delicate thing...but tenderness, heat, and movement can spare them of lifelong problems.

True. ^_^

That's why sometimes, SPA treatments are booming when we don't think we know how to relax our body properly.

hahaha...

Oh I think we can figure it out....It just takes 2 to tangle or untangle as it were...heated sex (if I may be so blunt) does wonders for stiff .....necks and the like
