Grilled Plantains Recipe

July 3rd 2008 09:11
A lot of people are confused with plantains as banana because they looked very similar. But before we come to the recipe let's have a simple definition of Plantains.

Plantains are a member of the banana family. They are a starchy, low in sugar variety that is cooked before serving as it is unsuitable raw. It is used in many savory dishes somewhat like a potato would be used and is very popular in Western Africa and the Caribbean countries. It is usually fried or baked.

When you have the cravings for lasagna but you need to cut off the cheese and diary products, you now can do so with this recipe below.

The tender slices of eggplant take the place of pasta in this lasagna, making it quite high in fiber. This recipe includes many flavorful and healthful herbs and spices, including oregano—a powerful source of antioxidants. This dish can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving

Garbanzo Burgers Recipe

May 30th 2008 00:48
These tasty golden patties are made with garbanzo beans, also known as chickpeas. Garbanzo beans have a delicious nut-like taste and texture, and are a great alternative source of protein. You may choose to use canned or dried beans for this recipe. The benefits of using canned beans is that you can assemble them in no time at all if you use a food processor to chop the ingredients. Serve them on whole-grain buns with all the fixings.

This is another yummy recipe I found from Cancer Project. I hope everyone will enjoy them. ^_^

Serve this applesauce hot or cold. Berries give this applesauce a deep red or purple color and add a hefty dose of anthocyanins, potent cancer-fighting antioxidants

Simple Marinara Recipe

People always says vegetarians tend to loose the colours of food in life, it need not necessary be true unless you’ve chosen the path of a true Buddhist who practises non-spices meals.

This is the same to cancer survival patients – it isn’t the end of the world towards “death to taste

Healthy Banana Oat Pancakes Recipe

March 27th 2008 01:19
I found this neat recipe from the Cancer Project site, and banana is always one of my favourite fruits. I am sure anyone out there would love it as well.

These satisfying pancakes contain generous amounts of heart-healthy oats. They are delicious when served with fresh orange slices or other fruit, or a bit of real maple syrup. You can purchase oat flour at natural food stores and in some supermarkets, or you can make your own by grinding rolled oats in a food processor or blender

Recipe: Homemade Taco Sauce

January 17th 2008 07:14
Article researched and compiled from Teri’s Kitchen and All Recipies

From the refried beans (or more accurate – fried beans) now comes the taco sauce. I found this nifty recipe about the writer talking about how she forgot to get taco sauce when she was making tacos. This is good for those who cannot take preserved food (like my mom these days) and good for cancer surviving patients too. But don’t forget. Normal healthy people can also benefit from this (especially the kids) as this is a good start into having less preserved food

Recipe: Homemade Refried Beans

January 16th 2008 00:31
Article researched and compiled from Simply Recipes

After inspired by Cibby’s comment, I did thought of looking into homemade Taco Sauces but our beloved Katyzzz also reminded me about canned food which is generally not good for health if consumed frequently, not to mention it is bad for cancer survived patients and SJS (Steven Johnson Syndrome) survived patients because of the preserved ingredients
