The History about The Health and Medical Insurance
December 17th 2008 09:41
Most of the people in present days will have at least bought one or more health insurance plans and it's a very common phenomenon. For proving it, I've done a simple survey with my friends and colleagues. Guess what, 18 out of 20 people have bought at least one health insurance and 9 out of the 18 people have purchased more than three medical insurance plans!
Well, it might sound a little bit crazy, but this is the truth where the health insurance is started to getting its position in our daily life. By the way, do you know that Hugh the Elder Chmberlen proposed the earliest concept of health insurance in 1694? The first health insurance that being insured is the "accident insurance," where it was first offered in the United States by the Franklin Health Assurance Company of Massachusetts. The firm that founded in 1850 was offered insurance against injuries due to the railroad and steamboat accidents!
Before the invention of medical insurance plans, most of the patients have to pay all the health care costs out of their own wallets and it's really a big burden for those that can't afford to pay it at once. Luckily, the medical insurance was introduced during the 1920s, where the hospitals started to offer the patients on a pre-paid basis.
If you haven’t bought any medical insurance plans yet, then you should consider doing it as soon as possible, as we cannot predict what will happen to us in the next minute…
