The Pain of Having Toenail Fungus!

March 5th 2009 05:52
All of the living creatures, including human beings are always exposed to the risk of having assorted diseases. The even more sarcasm thing is, the more you’re afraid of getting the related disease, the even easier you’ll get it (Maybe fate is playing some games with us?!).

My brother, Rayno who involving in the Technical and development industry, have to work nearly 12 hours every day (To be honest, it’s quite a hard job and I’m respect his determination on his work!). During the working hours, he needs to wear safety boot, in order to prevent himself from any unexpected incidents.

For your information, most of the safety boots are normally airtight. If you wearing it over 12 hours per day, your toenails will be probably being infected with toenail fungus.

Unfortunately, my brother is one of the victims of this horrible nail disease. He’s now having the toenail fungus, or it also known as “Onychomycosis” which means the fungal infection of the nails. This disease is caused by dermatophytes (tinea unguium), where the nail plate can have a thickened or yellowish appearance. The nails can be very rough and crumble. The even worse is the nail can be easily separated from the nail bed! My brother is suffering with this stubborn disease, and as an Elder brother, I should do something to help him here...

Caution: The following picture might leave some side effects to the viewer. And, I won’t responsible for all the consequences that might occur after it! Hence, view at your own risk!

For avoiding the disease to become even worse, I’ve advised my brother to look for the toenail fungus cure. Although he refused in the very beginning, but after a few times of persuasion, he decided to have try it out.

During the toenail fungus treatment, the doctor suggested him to wash his feet at least 2 times per day with a specific antifungal soap. It wound be even better, if he can take off his safety boot and give his toenails some rest during the working period!

Furthermore, I recommended my brother to apply some Tea Tree Oil on his toenails, as it has been proven has the antimicrobial and antifungal functions. After all, it’s not too hard to find the Tea Tree Oil, as it available on the market with an affordable price.

Hopefully, he will be able to recover from the Onychomycosis disease as soon as possible. May god bless my brother!

May God bless your brother, this is a terrible thing for him to contend with.

And I thought my toenails were bad, Wilson.

All jokes aside, I am lucky not to suffer from this but I'll keep this post in mind if ever I am asked about it - or am unlucky enough to get it myself.

Great information!

I have to say, your picture didn't bother me. My father has a toenail fungus (don't know specifically) but his feet looked almost exactly like that. He is on several medications that keep him from taking the pills for the fungus. His doctor made a recommendation on a way that could possibly treat them and we have tried it. I say we cause he can't clean and clip his nails on his own. The suggestion was to use chest vapor rub on his toes every night and wrap them in plastic. So he started doing it, but instead of wrapping them, he just caked the stuff on his feet and puts socks on every night. We have been doing this consistantly for six weeks now, and every two weeks I soak and scrub his feet and trim his nails which isn't a easy process. But we have seen improvements. His feet look healthy again, and three nails are almost 100% cleared up. It isn't an easy battle but I can see that it is working. He became diabetic recently and so keeping his feet healthy is very important now. Just though this home remedy may help someone else.

Katyzzz: Thanks for the concern, Katyzzz. To be honest, as the elder brother, I'm feel sorry for his current situation, and I hope he'll be able to recover very soon...

Janet: I probably didn't know this disease, if my brother didn't infect by the fungus, Janet. Like the old adage, "We learn from the mistake (disease)!"...

Anonymous: Thanks for the great advice and I hope your father will be recovered very soon (I'm sorry that your father's a victim of diabetes, which it's same with my condition!). You should look through my posts, as I have many health recipe, especially for the diabetics!

Thanks for all the great comments, guys
