I didn’t know, whether you’ve encountered with people who have a very strange condition, where the person has the foreign accent when he/she is speaking. In fact, the person’s parents are local and native language speakers without having the foreign accent at all!
One of my students, Johnson who had been diagnosed having the very rare and mysterious ‘Foreign Accent Syndrome’ (FAS). He has a very weird accent, where I cannot even classified it into any group of the languages in the world!
Some experts said that he condition is related with damage in certain brain areas, but the others thought it having some connection with the genetic!
To be honest, instead of the weird foreign accent sound, Johnson is totally a healthy and active teenager. However, he did mention to me that this syndrome had brought much trouble to him, as he’s always the target that being teased by classmates or friends!
Be tough, Johnson. Never let others break your confidence down.
