With Tolerance, Contentment is Enhanced

July 12th 2007 00:58
Here is another nice article I found from Self Empowerment, I hope that the article today can help those who are struggling in people around them and needs a lot of grace and patience.

With Tolerance, Contentment is Enhanced
Article extracted from Self-Empowerment, by Bridget Menezes

There is no pleasure in disturbance. If we disturb the peace on the street we could be fined. We have broken a law. If our peace is disturbed inside, there is also a penalty to pay; we call it pain. It could be mental or emotional. The power of tolerance is the ability to be undisturbed by any event happening around us and to respond positively. It is an ability that comes with ease when we stay on our seat of self-respect and observe. We are involved and yet detached at the same time.

Tolerance is essential when we deal with people who say and do things, which stimulate negative memories and emotions.

We have to tolerate our own feelings and emotions and that is only possible when we can consciously disengage and detach from the thoughts and feelings accompanying our reactions. We should remember that we are not our thoughts and feelings, but that they are our creation.

Thought for reflection:
What is uncomfortable now will soon change. Tolerance is like saying yes to the game and enjoying it.

Sometimes we always forget to be in other people's shoes.

Thanks for reminding.

Good post but for me, easier said than done. I love the flowers, poppies are they?

Hi Lay-In,

Thank you so much for dropping by. It's so good to see you online again.

Yes, we all tend to forget this and we need to remind ourselves all the time, especially our world is getting smaller and smaller.

Hi katyzzz,

Glad you liked the article. They are nor poppies, but they are called Buttercups.

Hi Tracy,

I too keep trying to remember this part of the quote, it makes the waiting to get things done shorter.

Thank you so much for dropping by. Have a blessed day!
