Warning: It’s About The Lap Band, Not Laptop!

February 13th 2009 07:02
Human beings love to watch beautiful things and it’s natural law for us to attract with the gorgeous scenery. Hence, many of the people, especially those people that have the obesity problem already tried the best to loss away the fat/adipose, but have eventually failed to do so!

A few hours ago, after having my launch, I still have some time left. Therefore, I used the internet to surf and hope to find some interesting stuff on it. During the surfing process, I was attracted with a blog, lap band blog. To be honest, when I saw the name for the very first time, I thought it is some kind of pop singing band (Please forgive my naïve! lol). However, after I’ve clicked on it and read the articles, I discovered another shocking and even more interesting stuffs than music!

I’ve heard many weight loss methods before, but I swear to god that I haven’t know this lap band method until now! For those that didn’t know what this lap band is, lap band is a short form of “Laparoscopic adjustable gastric band”, where it is a restrictive device that made out of Silastic (A type of plastic that have not harm with the internal body tissues).

In order to use this device, it has to be placed into our gastric (right at the top of stomach) through the Laparoscopic surgery, or also known as “minimally invasive surgery (MIS)”. Dr. Dag Hallberg, a bariatric surgeon from Sweden in 1985, invented this lap band. It’s claimed the least invasive weight loss surgery currently available. The best part of this lap band is it can be adjusted; either you want the band to be loosened or tightened.

By using this way, the person can easily control his/her diet, and maintain the body weight at the optimal level!

Do you want to know more about the lap band? Then, please spend a few minutes and read on the lap band history. I’m sure you’ll know it better after you’ve finished reading the articles!

It's actually a popular weight loss method. Mikey Robbins - comedian, radio and TV show guy had this method and lost heaps of weight and promoted it quite well.

Robins weighed 147 kilograms before having lap-band surgery a year ago. "I realised if I didn't do something I was going to be seriously unwell in a few years," he says. "I was staring down the barrel of being a diabetic with high blood pressure and cholesterol and facing a premature death."

He lost 60kilos from the surgery!

If the problem is a severe one, I guess drastic measures are called for. Jason's example is one that really shows it works.

I'm glad I'm not that overweight!

I had the surgery 2 years ago, lost 100 lbs, and have maintained my weight for over a year. Yeah for the lapband.

Jason: Oh, this means I'm "the frog in a well", and I didn't know this method until now, Jason! Men, you're surely the "Trivia King"!

Janet: Yeah, it's better to have the average and optimal weight all the time...
